Are you kidding - today's youth are celebrity obsessed. The success of BB is testament to that.
It wouldn't be so bad if it were about proper celebrities who were worthy of that title such as talented singers, actors etc. But most of the obsession is for untalented non-entities such as faded/aspiring glamour models and has-been small-time actors/actresses who are either desperately trying to get a successul career or reclaim one.
At least old-style celebs had some quality. Today's 'celeb's are like today's pound shops - cheap, cheerful and available. The new in-thing - cheap, poor quality shops and cheap, poor quality celebs.
How standards have fallen over the last few years. Cut-backs everywhere including the quality of so-called 'celebrity' status. It is actually quite embarrassing how low the expectations of our youth today are. Let's just hope things take a turn for the better in the economy in more ways than one.
