I can see where you're coming from, but these days people use things as an excuse to be offended by
anything... I've already mentioned that I've got native American in my family, yet I'm not offended by this.
I'm Scottish and American, two of the worst portrayed places on the media. Do I get upset when I see people wearing those ginger hats and kilts and taking the piss? No, because I can see why it's humorous. People are too serious these days and it pisses me off so much. If someone dressed up as a fat person and said 'I'm dressed up as an american lmao xo' I would probably roll my eyes but I'd also laugh too. People take things the wrong way imo.
It's not like people intentionally go out and dress up as Indians because they think it will upset people.
