Her friends struggled to fit in, and Perez gives two ****s about being accepted or conforming, even going out of his way to be an irritant. I can kinda see how she feels that she's still fighting for the gay movement while Perez is messing it up and how that's made her be on gay activist overhaul, but she needs to get with the times. The gay fight isn't just about fitting in anymore, it's about a community of individuals. She's the one hurting it by giving Perez a set of rules that he has to live by to be 'acceptable.'
