Here's my theory...it's quite simple. I believe that when Hopkins criticizes housemates like Alicia, Perez, Nadia or Keith, Michelle really does agree with Katie...so it doesn't bother her and she lets it go. She hides behind Hopkins and lets her take all the heat, while she can sit back and pretend to be the nice one.
I think both Michelle and Cheggars (who I adore, btw) are both very cognizant of their image and are very much in control of themselves and how they are portrayed. Cheggars tries to be "happy" and hides his smoking because he's consciously keeping up his image every day.
The other housemates try to do the same but they crack way more often and reveal themselves because they are not as in control as Michelle and Keith.
