Don't Mess With Big Brother!
Day 42, 18:15
Thursday 08 July
Watch this clip
After a day of silence Big Brother has decided to take action, and it was Stuart's cowboy hat that paid the penalty.
Breaking the eerie silence that has pervaded the House all day, Big Brother's voice rang into the House demanding that the housemates gather on the sofa.
"Oh my goodness!" exclaimed Michelle before she realised she had broken the silence and clapped a hand over her mouth.
Becki buried her face in her hands and Nadia nervously gathered her blanket around her face as Big Brother commanded a housemate to turn on the plasma screen. Nervous looks passed amongst the group.
A shot of a solitary cowboy hat on a lawn appeared on the screen prompting puzzled expressions from the gang. A hand bearing a flaming rag appeared on screen and torched the hat.
Gasps of horror ensued from the housemates and a slack-jawed expression of bewilderment was etched on Stuart's face.
...it's all too much for the hatless cowboy
After watching for a few seconds, Stuart hurried into the garden to see if the hat was being burnt outside, but the lawn was bare. The self-styled cowboy reluctantly returned from the garden and slumped to his knees to bury his face on the back of the sofa.
As the hat continued to burn, Daniel pressed his finger to his mouth and Ahmed gazed on perplexed.
Stuart raised his head only to clutch his forehead and bare his teeth at the vision of the burning headgear.
Gazing transfixed as the hat was reduced to a pile of ashes Stuart was visibly disturbed as Michelle rushed to comfort him (albeit quietly).
As the cowboy hat bit the dust a spontaneous round of applause broke the silence once more. Stuart merely exhaled loudly from his vantage point on the floor.
And while the others found some humour in the situation and permitted themselves a few moments of nervous laughter, Stuart silently retreated to the pamper room for a bit of a sob.
What will Big Brother do next?
