Yeah, I know what you mean Mark. Of course it used to be extremely offensive to begin with; it still is depending on the context and person, but then as racial tolerance increased, this is how the word was both adopted and adapted. As I mentioned before, it's complex to get your head around but kept within a certain race/ethnic minority is different to throwing the words about to anyone and everyone. I don't think it should be right in any context either - I never say it - but people generally need to be careful before they speak.
