I loved this episode! I really liked how dark Cruella's backstory was,

and how they put a twist on the "villain has a sympathetic and troubled past" formula. Nice swerve, show.

One tiny gripe is that

it was a little convenient that the Author's car was black and white, and that when the magical ink spilled over Cruella it turned her hair black and white to match her Dalmation coat.

But none of that really spoils the enjoyment of the episode for me.
