One of my aunties was very stingy when it came to presents (or even cards) for the kids.
She was one of those who would buy an expensive outfit to look flashy in for a wedding or other family event but tuck the label in and take it back to the shop afterwards.
How we laughed when she was shown up once when the till girl checked the inner lining of a skirt and knew it had been worn.
