Yes that was me. Ok, as an adult I understand where your coming from if the word was ****/wanker/prick... something along those lines. But the word ni**er is in direct reference to your skin colour, picking you out because of the colour of your skin and trait you cannot change.
Just because there is no slavery now, does not mean the word does not get used for the same effect it was before. Just because this is the year 2007 does not mean racists don't exist, does not mean that black people do not come across barriers and situations in which they are still not accepted because of the colour of their skin.
We shouldn't have to just sit back and accept it.

I would like to ask you something. If the word ****** was used throughout the world like it is now but black people stood up and didn't react the way they do, how long would it take before the word ****** died out? People say things to one another for affect, to see how they react, people who are racist say the N word because they may get a buzz out of the recipients reaction. This is true, whatever the word being used is, whether its racist or not, its down to the recipients reaction. The recipient alone can stop a word being used in its tracks... just like that. It is immature of us to take offense over a single word. It happens in racisism, in bullying, in sexist, it happens everywhere.
Yes the word can be referred to as slavery, but come on people that doesn't happen now does it? and it hasn't happened for so long. No one here has been a victim of black slavery because none of you were born, why take offense now? Black and white are equal in every single way, accept that people. I appears I am stronger than most of you here, when a word is thrown at me, I ignore it, leaving the offender feeling like an idiot.
