Many issues within the black community are there because of the effects of slavery. Maybe you should do some reading to help you understand better, there are some good books out there.

The fact that my father, uncles & aunties, grandparents and great grandparents, who are all still alive, have experienced racism in a way even I couldn't understand, who have been called ******* by white people, is what makes me stand up and say something about it and not accept it even if it was not meant in a malicious way, whether black people use it themselves or not, I am not going to take this as an excuse or justification.
