That'll probably have been what the PR people made him say in order to protect One Direction's market share - make it look amicable even if it's not. They said Siobhan Donaghy was leaving the Sugababes for a career in fashion and Mutya Buena was leaving to focus on being a mum - they both went on to release solo albums not long afterwards. It's just standard pop music excuses.
Louis Tomlinson's a bitchy moron whose bark is worse than his bite - his whole post-One Direction career will rest entirely on whether or not people find his little snipes funny or sad. Personally I vote sad, I think he's a dick and he needs to shut the **** up.
