[Tesla Motors has launched a giant wall-mounted lithium ion battery
that it says will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels
Aside from trying to create reusable rockets with SpaceX,
billionaire Elon Musk is also trying to solve our battery problems
with his other company, Tesla.
Musk took a break from electric cars yesterday to
reveal the Powerwall home battery at an event in California.
It's a wall-mounted lithium ion battery designed to power homes
and businesses by storing up energy and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
The Powerwall comes in two versions: a 7kWh unit which will
sell for $3,000 (£1,954) and a 10kWh
unit that will cost $3,500 (£2,275).
It can be mounted on either an outside or an inside wall.]
