In July it will be a year since my cat died, too. I kind of wish I came across this thread at the time, it's a really nice idea for people to be able to share their experiences and talk with others about it.
You're very right Chaos, as hard as it is to lose them we know that it's the kindest thing if nothing else can be done. I hope you're doing okay.
