After 10pm quite bad language is allowed according to the broadcasting code. However ever Ofcom can get involved if such bad language is prolific in nature....Prolific that is in the use of the really bad words.
So broadcaster are basically under the thumb of Ofcom and will probably tend to play safe in order to avoid being fined which could be quite a big fine if they are deemed to have broken the code of standards allowed by control freak Ofcom

you could well be right there bananarama, even though they have a 20 minute delay, maybe if something slipped through, they could get heavily fined. .. it still annoys the bejezus out of me. ( i love watching late night bitching on E4 streaming when i'm in bed ....i turn the sound up when they are whispering .. then when the advert break comes on, i have to dive for the mute button on my remote so as not to annoy the neighbours.
