A few months ago, David Lynch pulled out of Showtime's "Twin Peaks" reboot following a dispute with the network over money. Shortly thereafter, the show's cast members put out a video calling for Lynch's return. Apparently he heard them; tonight, Lynch announced his return to the project via posts on Twitter, and later, Facebook. "The rumors are not what they seem ..... It is !!! Happening again," Lynch wrote. The show is currently in pre-production, according to Indiewire.

As Indiewire reports, the pivotal filmmaker will co-write and direct the "Twin Peaks" reboot – and what's more, the show has been expanded beyond than the originally announced nine-hour run time. “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever," Showtime president David Nevins told Indiewire, invoking Dale Cooper's beloved beverage: “[It was] totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected.”
