The Haves And The Have Nots
Day 44, 21:05
Saturday 10 July
The divide between the Sergeants and the Private became even more marked this evening as the housemates sat down for dinner.
As Michelle and Jason dined at an elegant table set for two, complete with burgundy tablecloth and candlesticks, the Privates slaved in the kitchen.
Whilst Victor and Stuart scraped rations out of silver packets for their own dinner, Shell prepared a feast for the two Sergeants.
"This is the biggest, fattest meal we'll have in here," said vegetarian Michelle gorging on tagliatelle and new potatoes. Jason greedily tucked into steak, broccoli and potatoes.
...but not for others
Meanwhile, the others sweated over a stove preparing rations of "Lancashire hotpot" and spaghetti. Shell suggested she perk up the bland pasta with lemon, pepper and olive oil.
"I can't believe I ate that whole, fat dinner," groaned Michelle after she'd cleaned her plate, rubbing it in.
Mess cook Shell slopped the Privates' basic fare into metal tins and the troops gathered on the sofa to chow down.
"I'm well enjoying this," said Private Stuart, looking on the bright side as usual.
Nadia's face told a very different story as she silently chomped on her spaghetti.
