The whole purpose of the internet was to provide for information to be freely passed without restriction and tampering of by corporations and governments.. I understand restricting things that are psychologically damaging or could lead to serious physical harm to others.. but in reality when has a bit of porn done anything to anyone?

Hardcore maybe has a case, depending how hardcore it really is. If it perpetuates violence, gore, or illegal activity then perhaps restrictions could be put in place, but other than that I honestly don't see the point.
