General Posting Tips - Please read
General Posting Tips I have been cleaning up the Big Brother 8 forum for the last 3 hours or so and I have some pointers to help everyone out.
Thread titles need to be meaningful if people are to know what your thread is about. If a thread doesn't have a meaningful title then people won't bother to read it or post to it and it might get deleted.
The first post to a thread should explain what the thread is about and make a valid point. If it's not then it could get deleted.
Threads should be started in the correct section of the forum. To many threads about single housemates are started in the Big Brother 8 section and not the contestants own sections of the site.
Posting with the caps lock key on and/or posting in text speech isn't allowed on TiBB and you post will be deleted or removed.
People should avoid swearing in text speech in posts. Again this could lead to your post being edited or deleted.
Things from the live feed should be posted in the live feed topic generally to avoid spoiling the highlights show unless they are of major importance. (Link to live feed topic - click here)
People should check carefully before starting new topics. The number of duplicate topics is amazing and in one case I merged over 5 topics on the same thing. It only takes a few minutes to check through todays Big Brothers post to check if a thread has already been started on the same subject.
If you post press articles make sure you include the source name in full and a link to the original article.
Finally remember the golden rule no insulting other members as this leads to warnings and temporary bans. If a member insults you report the post and let the Moderators or a member of the Admin team deal with it.
Thanks for you Help
