....hmmm, so Harry is a 'brown noser' because she has no particular connections to the other newbies and doesn't like Marc at all/prefers some originals and Nick is a brown noser because he likes both Harry and Marc and although may be closer to Harry is in this instance concerned about her hatred for Marc overshadowing everything for her/her experience so has tried to talk openly about it with her....'as a good friend' you may say...in a 'real world' situation that conversation would have been completely private between the two of them and I think quite a natural one to have if you considered someone a friend, which I think he does with Harry...

..also it doesn't always have to be about 'sides', I think that he genuinely likes both of them and is trying to be objective as well...
