As for the present day, I don't think we can say with certainty that her prank on Jack is "harmless". It was certainly mean-spirited (rather than a good-natured prank, which would be more warranted of being branded "mischevious"), and I don't really think building someone up for a greater fall than they're already heading for is "harmless".
I fully agree that Helen is a million times worse, but I really don't get the glossing-over of Nikki's bad traits.

Citing an event from BB7's first week to drag Nikki ten years later is a bit of a reach. You might have made a dick move ten years ago but that doesn't define who you are now does it?
I wouldn't brand Nikki's actions in the house as anything more than mischievous. She's bringing down an arsehole that thinks he's already won and has attacked someone he considers his lesser in the house multiple times just because he thinks he can. Jack is deeply unpleasant and he deserves the fall that Nikki is setting up for him. She isn't REALLY even doing anything in fairness. It's his ego that doing all the work.
