I don't often disagree with Emma but I did last night on her point about the need for a variety of housemates.

Sure, we do need a diverse bunch of characters of different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, sexualities, some arseholes, some nice etc. But we do not need ****ing bores that coast along and fly under the radar never saying a word only to end up in the final undeservingly over someone else who has brought a lot more to the series, and in some cases even win the bloody thing.

There's a misconception that those who usually champion the ~entertaining characters~ only like endless drama, and that isn't true. You can be a nice person and bring different things to the show such as humour and other storylines that don't necessarily have to include drama. Take Mark last year for example, a decent enough guy I'd say...I liked him because I thought he was ****ing hilarious. Jack this year also, not really a ****, but still brings a lot to the show with his ridiculous aggressive outbursts. Even Joel really, nice guy...but still appears to play a role in the series. Same applies to Brian and Nikki, never known as horrible characters really but both legendary housemates in their own right.

While the argument that we need a good balance of housemates is correct, it is not an excuse for radar divers that literally say and do nothing all series long. You can be 'nice' and still contribute to the show, but if 'nice' is all you are - then **** off.

However, on the subject of Cristian himself being criticised inside the house regarding the Marc incident - I do agree he can't win. I would rather he continue to act up, yes it is fake but it's a hell of a lot more interesting than the Cristian who never says a word and is a complete waste of a housemate space. But yes, in the house it does seem like he can't win.
