both are sleazy but joel is a hypocrite as well....the minute his mother came in he has moved over to the dark side. I bet she's kicking herself now for going up to marc.
it shows that he doesn't actually have a mind of his own - he is not his own person - he has to ask mumsy what the right thing to do is.
