Telling someone they are seconds away from getting a slap certainly sounds violent to me
However, I feel too much emphasis is put on violence sometimes. Again (as with most things) maybe its where I am from but its so common here noone bats an eyelid. Its quite unusual for a full blown argument not to end in a punch up. Here, its quite unusual for blokes to argue much at all, they have a fight, then everythings over and they buy each other a pint
