that's cause everyone told him he'd be fracked once Helen left. Even he commented on how everyone thinks he's fracked after she's gone. So he felt urged to prove that he's "still the same Marc". You can tell this by how nonsense and beside the point his jabs at others were. He doesn't know how to find what people are bothered with, he's just shooting in the dark hoping he'll hit something. Weaklings like Danny and Jack bite. Others see him as bs-er and just smile along.
(All this is made even further idiotic cause after he just got in the house, he quickly calmed down and started to get along with most of the people, and after he came back, he was acting like he cares for them - key word being acting. Still they all blamed him for the whip Helen wielded over their heads. Then after they all told him he'll be fracked after Helen is gone, he's now actually reenacting his first few days in the house, proving how fake and insecure (defensive) he really is)
