Nah not really, 'normal' to me doesn't directly correlate to 'deserving' there have been many, many normal people over the years and not all of them have been deserving, to me a 'deserving' housemate is someone who makes the most of the, primarily, once in a life time opportunity, I'd rather be entertained by a recruit than bored to tears by a 'normal person'
And if we look at it technically, people in media these days, are becoming the norm, our society as a whole is so reliant on the media and social media presence these days that it's not all that unusual to be scene as 'somebody' especially with the powers of Twitter and Youtube.
A 'normal' person could go in there and be the biggest dick in the entire world, whereas a recruit could go in there and be the nicest, funniest person in the world and that's what matters to me, not what their job is or how they got onto the show, don't get me wrong, it is nice to see people like Harriet go on there and be from a humble background, but someone being scouted isn't detrimental to my viewing experience or my opinion of them.
