It's not about feeling sorry for themselves, it's a matter of respect. Instead of acting like people should have thicker skin, people should just not use that word

I didn't mention anything involving the n-word. I'm just pointing out that your logic that Marc can't even possibly be homophobic because he was friends with the gay guy in the house is the same as saying that someone can't possibly be racist because they have a black friend.
