You misunderstood she wasn't supporting Chloe she was condemning Danny whilst pointing out to her she was no more greedy than those criticising her.
She clearly recognised that Danny was after that 5k, if Danny wanted the 5k to go in the pot why did he evaluate that she would put it in the pot and then guess correctly? By doing so he would have STOPPED it going in the pot wouldn't he? Maybe just maybe the most favourable aim you could attribute to Danny is that he wanted to be the one to put it in the pot and was prepared to risk losiing it in order to come out looking like the good guy, any way you look at this he comes out badly.
