It'd increase competition between fans, probably generate a lot of revenue and you could even have leaderboard updates shown each week to the viewers but not the housemates to keep things exciting.
Oh, and most importantly, we'd probably keep the essential characters around for the duration.

Problem with a rolling vote to save though is...someone could be great for the first week, then disappear and coast to the final based on the first weeks votes
