Default Stereo Kicks split up after just one single

Quote:
Stereo Kicks have decided to call it a day after just one single.

In a message to fans on Facebook, the former X Factor contestants said that they have decided to continue their journey as individuals.

Admitting that the music industry was a tough place for unsigned bands, the group said: "Let us start by saying what an AMAZING year it has been for all of us!

"As most of you know, we created Stereo Kicks during X Factor 2014. We all started off as solo artists and were then fortunate enough to be brought together in the bootcamp stages of the show.

"Since then our lives have changed dramatically, and for the better! With your help we have headlined our own tour and seen our single 'Love me So' (written by the band) reach number 12 in the midweek charts!

"We started the process alone and became one. Family is often an overused word, but in the last twelve months we have become one! That is why this next part is hard…

"We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually.

"We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band."

The group said that while they have considered endless ways to make the situation work, it had become impossible to continue as a band.

"Stereo kicks has been, and always will be, a HUGE part of our lives," the post continues. "We still remain the BEST of friends and will continue to support each other in everything we do."

The group's final performance will take place on July 25 at Thorpe Park.

Consisting of Barclay Beales, Chris Leonard, Tom Mann, James Graham, Reece Bibby, Jake Sims, Casey Johnson and Charlie Jones, Stereo Kicks auditioned for X Factor 2014 as individuals, but were later put together by bosses.

Mentored by Louis Walsh, they were the last remaining group on last year's show, making it all the way to the quarter final stage of the competition.

Their first and only single 'Love Me So' debuted at 31 in the UK Singles Chart.
what a shame
