It's one of those which would have worked so much better with all newbies. Same with the MVP - it was ruined by viewers giving it to Rachel's sister all the time despite her having absolutely no game at all. It only became interesting when viewers nominated directly. Battle of the Block might work better combined with MVP - one set of nominees chosen by the HoH, one by a secret winner of the viewers vote (or alternatively viewers directly).

I do think Battle of the Block should have replaced the Veto - makes no sense giving nominees two chances to save themselves (and then the immune nominees the chance to play for Veto too). As a replacement for Veto it would have meant so much more and actually make the strategy of putting a set of pawn nominees up far more risky. At the very least they should have played it after Veto, so the Veto can be used on any of the four original nominees and all the final nominees get a chance to save themselves.
