This speech had little to say about the leadership election.

Some good facts and figures and good statements of past leaders too. I was pleased he didn't join in the name calling and going too far as to warnings of doom and gloom if Corbyn got elected as leader.

It is all very well for some of the supporters of Tony Blair to go no about him winning 3 elections.
He was successful although very fortunate in his 3rd election in 2005,in that the Conservatives did not rise strongly in the voting.
However, reading back, Neil Kinnock laid out a lot of the base for Tony Blair to do well and even moreso John Smith in his short time as leader before him too.

Tony Blair really just reaped the rewards of those 2 leaders hard work over the previous 8 years from 1988 to 1997.
totally agree.....by 97 the tories were so hated, worzel gummidge would have won the election...but blair had more faces than worzel
blair went way over the top , there was no need to scrap clause 4, without clause 4 its simply not the labour party
