It had so many amazing moments... Monique "peeing" on the bed, "I AM a princess of the throne" fight, Monique vs Melrose, Melrsoe vs everyone, "Did you just remove that from your ass from last panel?", the male model who didn't like black girls, the messy Halle Berry makeover, the quiet girls standing up to louder girls, one of the models coming out as gay, ICONIC photoshoots and challenges etc
It was the right balance of serious modelling and entertaining drama.
8 wasn't really that great in terms of the purpose of the show, which is a modelling competition, however the drama and individual characters it produced were amazing so that's what stops it from being the first ~bad~ cycle I guess.
Pretty much every cycle has an iconic moment though.
