I know that the English language is meant to be the hardest to learn, especially where spelling is concerned

There is a little saying:- "I" before "E", except after "C"

So, "Receive" is "E" & then "I", because it is after the letter "C"

If you say, "Friend" then it is the "I" before the "E", because it is not followed by a "C"

But, that isn't always the case

Weight, Height, Their, (plenty more)......

and that's the tip of the Ice-berg nevermind Pyramids of Egypt...
