I went and saw APNE and I was hugely exited and lucikily the film lived upto my expectations. The film was absolutley FANTASTIC. I enjoyed every second, minutes, hour
Anil Sharma did a fantastic job. The film had emtions of a family united, togetherness of a family so close yet so far, happiness, sorrow, anger and hatred, though not too much of the latter.
The script was good and it had a very tight screenplay IMO. Every actor had something or another to contribute

Dharmaji: What can be said of the man who was often referred to as "The Greek God?" The same very man who makes Jaya Bachchans knees wobble
His character Baldev was so nice and at a major length of the film so angry and mean to one of his sons. He had much sorrow within him and much dislike for his son Angad played by Sunny. This was truley a good comeback in a full frontal film where he was able to showcase a variety of emotions

Kiron Kher: She was good as Raavi. She portrayed her role with much ease. To be honest, it wasn't anything new for Kiron

Katrina Kaif: Judging by the promos I thought Kat would be the main female lead, but her role didn't amount to much. She played her role well with much of the dialogues in English anyway. She looked pretty though

Shilpa Shetty: Her entrance into the film was HILLARIOUS (to me) and she looked so effortlessly beautiful. I didn't except much of her rolewise, as she had said in her interviews it isn't too lenghty and Anil Sharma wanted her because her character Simran basically loves to dance at any and every occasion, and who better than Shilpa at dancing and Shilpa took up the role as it gave her the oppourtunity to be in the film with the 3 Deols. However, Shilpa did get more scope to act more than Katrina and she did it well. She portrayed her role as a daughter-in-law to Dhramji and Kiron well enought and also portrayed her role of the wife to Sunny well, mostly silently supporting or being there for him.
SPOILER - Kind of
One of the best scenes with Shilpa was when Dharamji tells her to go save her suhaag" and she walks up to Sunny and says "Bas Angad bas, tume Aryan ki kasam..." and at this point she takes Sunnys' hand and puts it on top of her sons head but Sunny removes his hand from his sons head and crosses it across Shilpas' forhead, rubbing her sindoor off

Bobby Deol: I thought this film would be out and out his, and it was, partly and perhaps it'd be correct to say the first half of the film is his. Bobby looked so cute but moreso he did a job very well done

Sunny Deol: I thought Sunny would be overshadowed by Bobby, and the first half of the movie seemed to be proving right, but its in the 2nd half where I think the movie pretty much belongs to Sunny and I think he did a fantastic job, he totally rocked. I loved him in the film. In the first half its somewhat adorable how he takes everything bad that his father throws at him with silence and perhaps out of love. And the 2nd half is where Sunny gets alot of screentime and its at this point where Sunny shines

My opinion is that the film is thoroughly enjoyable. I'd say the only flaw was the songs weren't the best. But the songs APNE, Dekhu Tuje and Tere Sang and even Mehfooz aren't that bad and has been well directed and fitted into the film at appropriate times.
My rating 8/10
