I've seen that said a few times and it makes little sense to me. As soon as crowd chants are heard, people start to act like it's utterly inconceivable for housemates to genuinely hold negative opinions toward said housemate without them being influenced by the chants.
Considering she brought his wife into their argument, I have no trouble believing his opinion of her is completely genuine.
