Why should anyone dislike such behaviour? If anything he should be receiving additional praise for not turning a blind eye to a mate's wrongdoings, otherwise he'd just be like Michelle Visage in the last series where she failed to address Hopkins when she overstepped the mark.

Exactly! Also, I don't get how any one can say that James is Janice's puppet. James doesn't agree with Janice on anything really...he just feels bad with Austin's vile language and attacks...and come to her defense against it.
James appears to be his own man. He doesn't listen to or is influenced by anyone but his own conscience.
