"Isn't the weather in the UK cold enough?"

Totally different type of cold. It's a dry cold unlike here. You can be sat up a mountain at -22c in a t-shirt as long as the sun is out and there is no wind what so ever. Any cloud cover or wind and you cover up instantly. Quite strange.

With regards to a skiing holiday, do it as soon as you can. But have some lessons before you go. They are worth the money given how much more you will get out of the holiday. I ditched skiing about 12 years ago in favour of boarding. Much more fun in my opinion and it is one of the few things i will hold my hand up to and say i am bloody good at that.
