The planet is much "older" than it was when current life was evolving. The various climate changes, little things like what chemicals (and in what ratios) are in the atmosphere etc. means it's very unlikely that humans just as we are now would be the result. The life that would evolve could be pretty much anything. There's no guarantee that sentient life would even evolve at all... might just be a planet of bugs, or fish.

This is what I was thinking. There are so many variables that led to us evolving the way we did that would have to be exactly the same, but they can't be because of environmental changes that occur over time. It's interesting to think what could evolve though. Shark Humans sound pretty interesting
