Chemsex is a massive problem and what annoys me the most about the issue is that it seems to get NO coverage in the media. And I think a big reason for that is that people are afraid of seeming homophobic by catagorizing it as a gay problem, when it really is. That's not to say that straight people don't also use drugs but it's about culture. And there is a gay culture which contained within it has a subset who are actively promoting the use of drugs through outlets such as Grindr, and noone seems to be doing ANYTHING about it

I think it's only gay people who can stop this sort of thing but it starts with education. Unfortunately we live in a society where stuff like this isn't talked about in schools but if you want to change a social mindset, it starts with the young while they are still learning and forming their attitudes towards life and health and sexual safety. I say send gay men who have been affected by drugs, diseases and in particular, 'chemsex' into schools to talk to the pupils, and maybe we'll start to see a change.
