Louis desperately needs to come back next year. Cheryl's expendable to me and I'd rather swap her for Sharon again but she'll be staying no doubt.

Louis and Dermot back and the show is saved. I think the former is almost a given, but hopefully Simon works overtime to try and convince Dermot to return.

That's not technically true. There are plenty of people who work in speech radio who have no reason to have any extensive musical knowledge and as such don't, and indeed, those who work in music radio but don't host a specialist show and have no control over the stuff they play because it's all from the playlist don't really need that much knowledge either. Radio for the most part is about the links between songs, not the music itself (unless that's what the show is about).

However this doesn't apply to Grimmy as he used to host a specialist show. It's not his lack of/abundance of musical knowledge I care about, it's the fact he has been completely uninteresting as a judge. He's just 'meh'. Considering he replaced one of, if not the most iconic X Factor judge there has been just because Simon thought he'd pull in younger viewers (which he's failed to do), he's been spectacularly bad. Judges on this show need to be one thing, and that's entertaining. That's what this show is about. It doesn't matter how much knowledge or how equipped you are to judge talent, so long as you're entertaining as a judge that's all that matters. And Grimmy isn't.
