Helen George stormed to the top of the leaderboard in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing.

Kicking things off tonight were Kellie and Kevin who danced a fun Salsa to pop classic ‘I Want You Back’ by The Jackson 5. Len Goodman loved Kellie's "bionic bum" and declared the routine was "fabulous" while Craig Revel Horwood - and his questionable facial hair - said it was an "absolutely great" dance for the pair. With 34 points, it wasn't quite the pair's best score however.

Katie and Anton were up next with the Argentine Tango to Ástor Piazzolla’s ‘Libertango’. Bruno Tonioli branded it "drop dead gorgeous" but Craig Revel Horwood had a list of criticisms that he reeled off at the pair. Like Kellie before them, the pair's score of 32 was down three marks on the week before.

Helen and Aljaž's Viennese Waltz to the beautiful ‘At Last’ by Etta James left Craig VERY impressed and Darcey Bussell described Helen as a "treasure to watch" with a dance that was "close to perfection". With Len and Bruno equally as gushing, Helen walked away with a huge score of 39 points out of 40.

Jay and Aliona did the Tango to the Prince classic ‘When Doves Cry’ which Len described as a "mango of a Tango" and Craig "absolutely adored". With 38 points it was another big score and the pair's best of the series so far.

Hoping to bounce back from the bottom two, Peter and Janette danced the American Smooth to ‘Sweetest Feeling’ by Jackie Wilson. The comments from the judges were rather lukewarm with remarks from Bruno that it wasn't quite as smooth as it needed to be. The score of 31 was up on last Saturday but still left the pair bottom of the leaderboard before the Quickstepathon.

Anita and Gleb danced a panel splitting romantic Rumba next, performing to ‘Read All About It’ by Emelie Sande. Bruno said it was "beautiful" and Darcey felt it was "polished" but Craig found it "spiky" and Len said it "wasn't his cup of tea". With 31 points, six fewer than last week, the pair were left joint bottom of the scores ahead of the Quickstepathon.

Georgia and Giovanni finished off the main routines with a Paso Doble to Europe’s ‘The Final Countdown’. Craig loved the "dynamic" routine, Len said it was a "great way to end" the show and Bruno declared: "You rock kid!"

With the main routines out of the way it was onto the Quickstepathon which was won by Helen, adding 7 points to her score.
