The Republic of Ireland’s TV3 has confirmed its first schedules for Celebrity Big Brother 2016 after it was announced that the show begins on Tuesday 5th January.
The broadcaster will air the two-hour live launch on the 5th at 9.00pm, followed by spin-off Bit On The Side at 11.00pm on sister multichannel 3e.
Both shows are set to follow the same schedule as the UK, with the main show nightly on TV3 and BOTS weeknightly on 3e – although fans are advised to keep checking their TV guides, as there may be occasional exceptions.
Irish viewers remain unable to watch the regular instalments of live feed. It was confirmed this week that Channel 5 and 5* will air streaming every weeknight throughout the run.
The new Celebrity Big Brother is the last series guaranteed to air on TV3 under its current year-long contract for the Irish broadcast rights to Big Brother.
However, it appears likely that the network will renew the deal, as it has previously boasted of the show’s ratings success. A TV3 spokesperson confirmed to bbspy earlier this year that it has first refusal on future series.

It's a shame that Irish viewers won't be able to watch the live feed again, but it's good that they'll be able to watch the highlights! Hopefully they'll be able to show the live streaming and be able to vote if TV3 renews the contract.
