His reference that she wanted chicken WAS racist. American blacks are equated with a love of chicken and the context he used this connection in was definitely insulting.
Saying; "(She) only wants to come to talk to us now cos she’s hungry and wants some chicken." is also inferring that Tiffany is the type of person to prostitute her principles for a piece of chicken. How demeaning is that?
