...pretty much these really...(I think that you're focusing in a bit too much on wording, jet my friend...
...)...whether it's her own fault or not, Steph is obviously very emotionally fragile atm and then wasn't the time/place etc, other than to give his support, which he knew she desperately needed for those unconditional people in her life ...we are proud of you/we are proud of what you're doing..it's just wording but to me, the same meaning....
