I thought a similar thing when I watched it. I know they're probably told that they can't say certain things by production staff, but if it was someone I loved, I don't think I'd be able to stop myself from shouting 'get the hell out of there' or something
He's her dad and he's watching her ruin her reputation and career and she doesn't have any awareness of this. I think she needs tough love.
