Yup. Its a rather backwards system really when you think about it. I wouldn't have believed half of it if gav hadn't been on jobseekers last year. Last time I was on it was like 10 years back, and it was nowhere near as bad as it is now. I found a job but didn't start for a month and they still paid me but left me alone once I took in proof of the job offer everything was sound.
Mind back then it was pretty common to walk out of one job and get another immediately too. I remember doing that
I quit a bar as the manager was being a twat, and quite literally had another job within 10 mins
