Just had a twenty minute debate over this with my brothers after they pulled me up on the way I said it. I believe it's down to your accent and where abouts you're from
So, rant as in 'ant' with an 'r' at the start OR rant with a long 'a' which sounds more like rahnt (rhymes with aunt...if you're down south
