"I just wanted—needed some time to get my head right, to feel comfortable." - I find this really upsetting. The most difficult thing for a transgender person is sorting their heads out, moreso than their body. There's a reason suicide rates among trans people is so high.
Stories like this make me so angry, having a close friend who is trans (female to male), and seeing what he goes through. And I suppose the kind of abuse he sometimes gets makes sense reading things like this, seeing how it's treated by outlets like the Daily Mail who are feeding peoples minds with the attitude that trans people are sideshows/freaks to be gawked at and used for entertainment, and who gives a **** about how that might affect them because their feelings are secondary to what? A need to parade someone in public and make a show of how different they are to us? I don't get it. This shouldn't be happening to people in 2016.
Anyway, Lily's statement is brilliantly written

it's incredible actually (and far better than anything I've ever seen written in the Daily Mail). Good luck to her
