Didn't Robbie Williams used to say stuff like this to try and appeal to the 'gay market' too. It's cheap stereotyping and just makes him sound stupid.
And the whole "I've got a lot of gay friends" thing, as if we should be grateful that a straight person would consider being friends with us, and he's such a wonderful person for not being homophobic or something
