A big reason why US is on top is several nations where men's 'soccer' is successful eg Argentina, Brazil, Nigeria, Spain there is a lack of interest in women's sports. There was very little pressin Spain during the women's world cup . Marta 'the female Pele has got to wander across Europe to play these days. She's not well known or loved in Brazil.

As soon as the US Men's team does well * the women's team will be history.

* This won't happen any time soon as
  • Klinsmann seems to have no tactical acumen and seems to play players out of position. Won't be shocked if goalie Tim Howard ends up playing as a centre forward
  • Klinsmann keeps picking players such as Howard and Guzan who are either unable to get into Everton or useless at Villa
  • Too many of the young guys play in the MLS which is the worst league for a young player. They should go the Bundesliga or Bundesliga 2 at a mid table club. Brookes is now thriving at league postion #3 Hertha Berlin. Or the young players could try for a spot at St Pauli (or La Liga's Rayo Vallecano which has a US franchise Rayo OK). If the youngesters want to play in England they should do some research and try and land a spot in and up and coming mid table Championship side who could get into Premier League or a play off spot next season. They would get first team football at league 1 and 2 which IMO is better than MLS. Overhyped US whizzkid Jordan Morris decision to snub the Bundesliga for MLS was one of the dumbest decisions in 'soccer' history. Just because something is American it's better. MLS is on par with League 2.
